Kaempferia parviflora or Black Ginger is one of most popular herbs in Thailand as it has traditionally been used in folk medicine and food for more than 100 years. Black ginger has been linked to improved energy and lower fatigue. An enzyme found in this superfood (AMPK) improves glucose metabolism. Originally found in Thailand’s north and northeast, Kaempferia parviflora (KP) or Krachaidam is a Zingiberaceae member. Traditional folk medicine uses the rhizomes of KP, also known as black ginger, to treat inflammation, ulcers, gout, colic, abscesses and osteoarthritis, among other conditions.

KP has been the subject of a number of pharmacological studies, which have shown it to be beneficial for a variety of diseases.
